When we see a surgeon standing in the operating room, few realize how much physical strength and muscular endurance it truly takes to stand or sit still continuously for 6–8 hours . The back muscles, core, shoulders, and arms must work in precise coordination—to keep the hands steady, posture upright, shoulders relaxed, and the spine aligned—so that every movement remains accurate and controlled. Because surgery is not only about having “skilled hands,”but also about being able to stand for long hours without fatigue, so that SMAS dissection, muscle suturing, and every surgical stepretain the same level of precision from start to finish. Why is weight training important for surgeons? Over the past year, I have taken strength training seriously because my body began sending clear signals that fatigue was setting in faster. Not only due to age—but because the physical demands of our work continue to increase. Research has also shown that surgeon fatigue is clearly associated with poorer performance and worse patient outcomes(Impact of fatigue in surgeons on performance and patient outcome: systematic review, Iris M. Reijmerink et al., British Journal of Surgery, 2024). From consistent training of my back, core, and leg muscles, I have noticed that:
- Standing for 6–8 hours in surgery feels significantly lighter
- Fatigue sets in much more slowly
- Concentration during the final stages of surgery remains as sharp as at the beginning “A strong surgeon’s body” = “better patient outcomes.” Because surgery is the art of designing the best possible result for each patient—and that can only be achieved when the surgeon is not exhausted at the most critical moments of the procedure. Sometimes, a difference of just 1 millimeter can create a clearly visible difference in the outcome.
For my patients… I choose to stay strong. Every morning I get up to lift weights, not for aesthetics or bigger muscles, but to ensure that I can continue standing confidently under the operating lights—and fulfill my role to the very best of my ability… in every case entrusted to me. Because I truly believe that…“Behind every great surgical outcome is a surgeon whose body is fully prepared.” With care and dedication ❤️ Dr. Jay – Crafting Confidence with Care
One morning… the mirror in the elevator reflected my image. The same white coat, the same pair of shoes, the same posture. Yet what has never been the same… is how I feel each day.
Every time I put on this white coat, I am reminded that it is not merely a “surgeon’s uniform.” It is a symbol of responsibility—a quiet reminder that many lives place their hopes in our hands .
Especially among my facelift patients, many walk in carrying fear and anxiety. Some say, “I’m afraid I won’t look like myself anymore.” Others say, “I’m afraid the pain won’t be worth it.”
But within that fear… I often see a glimmer of hope —the hope of returning as a brighter, more confident version of themselves, and of living freely without having to hide their age or insecurities behind a mask anymore .
I want everyone to know this…“A facelift is not about changing yourself into someone else.It is about helping you return to who you truly are—in a version that is brighter, more confident ,and brave enough to meet your own reflection without hesitation.”
Because the mirror does not reflect only appearance. It reflects how you feel about yourself .And if one day you stand in front of the mirror and feel that you love yourself a little more – then I believe… we are truly on the right path.

After finishing patient consultations since early morning, I glanced at the clock—it was almost 2 p.m. I was sitting alone in the consultation room when my eyes fell on a small box of my trusted pens on the desk. I picked one up and suddenly realized…perhaps genuine care for patients can begin with something as simple as a single pen. For me, the pen used to draw surgical markings on a patient’s face is never chosen at random. Sometimes I spend 2–3 hours selecting the right one, because it must meet three essential criteria: Adheres well to the skin and does not fade easily Waterproof and resistant to cleansing solutions Sharp, precise lines with a thickness of 0.3–0.5 mm for maximum accuracy
Simply by looking at the color and line quality drawn on a patient’s face, you can tell how much attention a surgeon pays to detail. If the line is too thick or the ink dissolves easily, even a deviation of just 1 millimeter when making an incision can make scars harder to conceal.
I truly believe that attention to every detail—from before the first incision to the final stitch—is what allows surgical outcomes to meet expectations…and sometimes, even exceed them.

Today, I met with a team from a facial compression garment company to collaboratively design and propose ideas for a new-generation garment—one that can further enhance postoperative outcomes.
Because I truly believe that the beauty created through surgery does not end in the operating room. Postoperative care, listening to our patients’ voices, and continuous improvement at every step are just as important.
I often ask my patients:
- How far have you traveled to get here?
- What would you like to improve?
- What is the deeper reason behind your decision to undergo surgery?
One to two weeks after surgery, when she returned for follow-up, I could clearly feel that the transformation was not limited to her face—it had reached her heart and her smile.
I believe that when we open our minds, truly listen, and give time,we discover stories that inspire us to continuously improve our skills, our systems, our teams, and our organization—so that every patient can return to their life with a smile and a heart filled with happiness.

In early January 2025, I had the opportunity to welcome “Khun Mae Piam” and “Khun Mae Wirat”, who traveled all the way from California, USA, to meet me together for the very first time in my consultation room.
From their eyes and smiles that day, I could immediately sense how close they were. They were truly dear friends.Although they shared similar concerns—deep facial lines, sagging cheeks, loss of skin firmness, and once-bright eyes that had begun to look tired—throughout the consultation, they continued to smile and encourage one another.
After I explained the surgical approach and postoperative care in detail, both decided to proceed with facelift surgery. Khun Mae Wirat underwent surgery first, followed by Khun Mae Piam.
On the day of surgery…the two arrived hand in hand, just as they always did. Khun Mae Wirat told me she had followed my work for many years, watched hundreds of case reviews, and trusted my results. Hearing this truly touched my heart. Before beginning the operation, I told her,“Please don’t worry. I will take the best possible care of you in every case.” And I could see her concerns gradually fade away.
After more than 6–7 hours of surgery, everything went smoothly. When Khun Mae Piam walked into the recovery room to see her friend, she could not hold back her tears.“I’m so happy to see my friend looking beautiful again…I never imagined someone could truly look younger like this.”At that moment, I realized that friendship and love are among the most beautiful things in life, and I was determined to help Khun Mae Piam regain her confidence—just like her friend.
On the day the bandages were removed… the signs of sagging were gone. The skin was firm and lifted, and her eyes sparkled once more—as if she had returned to her younger self.
During their recovery, both visited daily for check-ups and wound care, often telling me that every visit felt like coming home. And today, Khun Mae Piam and Khun Mae Wirat have returned to the United States—reuniting with friends, wearing confident smiles. The happiness that comes from renewed self-confidence is something everyone around them can truly feel.
Thank you both for allowing me to share your story, and thank you to everyone who has read until the end. Please stay tuned for the next chapter—more meaningful stories are yet to come.
