V-neck Lift Program

Sharper facial contours and a longer-looking neck — uniquely yours
A double chin and sagging neck cannot always be corrected with liposuction alone. Why Do a Double Chin and Sagging Neck Develop?

Many people think facial sagging is simply “loose skin,” so tightening the skin should be enough. In reality, laxity can develop across every layer of the face — from the skin down to the muscles and retaining ligaments that support facial structure.

What Is the V-neck Lift Program?

The V-neck Lift Program is a personalized procedure developed by Dr. Jay, a plastic surgeon at The Art Plastic Surgery Hospital. It addresses the lower face and neck together to reduce a double chin, define the jawline, and tighten the neck in a single treatment plan.

“The V-neck Lift Program is not about removing as much fat as possible. It is about understanding that an elegant chin and neck require balance across every layer.”

What Defines an Attractive Chin and Neck?

From a surgeon’s perspective, an attractive lower face and neck are assessed through several combined factors, known collectively as a Youthful Neck. Its key characteristics include:
Youthful neck side profile for V-neck Lift
Cervicomental Angle
A 105–120° angle elongates the neck and refines the jawline.
Distinct Inferior Mandibular Border
A crisp lower jawline that remains clearly separate from the neck.
Smooth, Firm Neck Skin
No prominent laxity or skin folds.
No Horizontal Neck Lines
Helps the neck appear smoother and more youthful.
No Prominent Platysma Bands
Reduces a corded or pulled appearance of the neck.
No Visible Submandibular Glands
Creates a smooth contour beneath the chin and neck.
Non-Hypertrophic Masseter Muscles
Creates a more balanced lower-face contour.

Safety and Risks You Should Know

V-neck Lift swelling and bruising risk icon
Swelling and Bruising
These are common during the early recovery period and usually improve gradually as the body heals.
V-neck Lift temporary numbness risk icon
Temporary Numbness
This may occur when small sensory nerves are disturbed during surgery. In most cases, sensation gradually improves within approximately 3–6 months.
V-neck Lift hematoma risk icon
Bleeding or Hematoma
The risk can be reduced through meticulous surgical technique, careful bleeding control, and appropriate postoperative care.
V-neck Lift wound infection risk icon
Wound Infection
This is uncommon when the wound is cared for correctly, kept clean, and reviewed at scheduled follow-up appointments.
V-neck Lift uneven skin risk icon
Uneven or Wavy Skin
This can occur in some cases, especially where localized fat and skin laxity are present. Dr. Jay uses a specialized, careful liposuction technique to reduce this risk.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Standard double-chin liposuction treats only superficial fat beneath the skin. The V-neck Lift Program can address multiple layers, including the skin, superficial and deep fat, platysma muscle, salivary glands, and deeper muscles. It may suit patients who previously had liposuction with unsatisfactory results or whose concerns originate in deeper structures.
Results often last longer than double-chin liposuction alone because the procedure addresses several layers, including deep fat, the platysma muscle, and structures beneath the chin. Longevity varies with skin quality, age, weight changes, and postoperative care.
Swelling generally begins to decrease during the first week, and many patients can return to light work in about 7–14 days. Strenuous work and vigorous exercise should usually be avoided for the first 2–4 weeks, according to the surgeon’s advice.
In selected cases, yes. A person of normal weight may have a double chin caused by deep fat, a lax platysma muscle, or prominent salivary glands. The surgeon will assess the chin and neck structures and design an individualized plan.
This depends on the extent of surgery and the patient’s health. When multiple layers or additional procedures are involved, the surgeon and anesthesia team will determine the safest and most appropriate anesthesia method.
The surgeon generally reduces only an appropriate portion when indicated, rather than removing the entire gland. Other salivary glands continue to produce saliva. The need and safety of this step must be assessed carefully for every patient.
In selected cases, they can be planned together to harmoniously address the lower face, neck, and facial laxity in one operation. The surgeon will always evaluate health, operative time, and individual suitability first.
Pricing varies according to the concerns being treated, neck anatomy, surgical scope, and any combined procedures. An in-person consultation is recommended so the surgeon can create an appropriate plan and provide case-specific pricing.
